Scottish charitable incorporated organisation
Scottish Charity No 044153
Rothesay Dance Fusion and Isle of Bute Resilience Team were among the recipients of grants distributed to local groups in July by For Bute. See the coverage in The Buteman here. Thanks to support from island residents and visitors, For Bute's charity shop has raised over £175,000 for local causes in the last five years.
We are the only Bute-based charity shop that can say all of the following:
We are a registered charity -- our accounts are scrutinised by the Scottish Government and are accessible to the public.
100% -- every penny -- of our profits go to good causes on Bute.
None of our staff receive salaries or other remuneration or benefit in any way from For Bute.
We take your donations and turn them into funds to support local good causes. If you have an idea for a good use of For Bute funds, please drop by the shop 69 Victoria Street, preferably in the afternoons.

When you donate to For Bute or shop at For Bute, you know that the benefit stays on the Isle of Bute. Because we keep our costs to a minimum, depend on volunteers and pay no salaries, and have no assets such as a vehicle, we are able to maximise the value of donations, and because we are a local charity, all profits stay here, on Bute.
Antiques, high-quality collectables and secondhand clothing, books, art, ceramics, and a little bit of everything else -- with ALL profits going to local good causes on the Isle of Bute (~£175,000 as of Summer 2018). Help us to support our community, by shopping or donating. TO REQUEST FUNDS, DOWNLOAD OUR APPLICATION FORM HERE and turn it in to the shop.
